i got some pictures on my last day of the english classroom i worked in all year. that room was called the 어학실 (eohakshil), which literally means language classroom. my korean teaching partner ally and i both had desks in there, so that's where we spent all of our time preparing for classes when we weren't teaching. when we taught the way it worked was each class was split into an A class and a B class. for example, monday mornings 1st period we taught 5th graders, so the students in 5-2 B class would go down to the english room and ally would teach them there. then i would go upstairs to the 5-2 classroom and teach the A class there. i was always roaming to teach students in their homeroom class, while ally always stayed in the english room and the kids went to her. ally and i taught grades 1, 3, and 5, while the other english teaching team of hojung and jay taught grades 2, 4, and 6. they had another english room on the 3rd floor where their desks were.

that's kwanghi standing at ally's desk, and the music teacher talking to ally. she'd come in and chat with ally a lot, and some mornings she'd bring in some delicious homemade treats like a banana shake or some delicious health drink.
