thursday, february 15th was my last day teaching at the elementary school. there weren't any classes or anything, so i just spent the morning cleaning out my desk. the students came in just briefly in the morning, and by 10:30a they had gone home. after school throughout the year i'd sometimes play with a few students whose mothers taught at the school or who just never seemed to go home when the other kids did. they came by on my last day to play again before i left.
last day
my 3rd grade student leena (her mom teaches 6th grade) and me
younghyeon, 1st grader and daughter of one of the 3rd grade teachers
younghyeon dropped by in the classroom and gave me a note that was all folded up. i asked her if i should read it now but she said no, read it later. then she left the room so i opened it.
aw, what a cute note from younghyeon
moments after this, younghyeon's mother brought her back into the room and she was crying since i was leaving. by then i'd folded up the note so she didn't know that i'd read it. later she explained to me that i should not open it until i was on the airplane on my way back to america. how cute!
kwanghi sitting at my desk and laughing it up
the kids were looking bored and i didn't have anything to do so we went outside to play some soccer.
