i'm writing this post from the tokyo airport, overlooking a rainy, late saturday afternoon airport terminal. i'm on my way to honolulu, hawaii for the much-anticipated wedding of my good friends charles and lisa. hopefully the weather will be nicer in hawaii, and i'm betting it will be. unfortunately, i'll only be there for about 98 hours, just over four days. i'm missing classes for this, so the morning after the wedding i have to fly back to korea so i can teach on friday. still, i'm looking forward to making the most of it and having a great time.
meanwhile, i'm stuck in the tokyo airport waiting out a three hour layover. last year on my way to hawaii for vacation i had to wait six hours here each way, so i'll be okay. and i discovered this yahoo! internet cafe with free access. i did have to provide my passport number, for some reason that worries me. and then they're using internet explorer, which of course is horrible. if you don't know what i'm talking about and you have a pc, download firefox and you can thank me later. not only that but these japanese keyboards are all screwy. the apostrophe is at shift+7, and the double quotes are shift+2. meanwhile there's a few buttons that change the language to japanese that i seem to constantly inadvertently be pressing. isn't it fun reading the ramblings of someone bored in an airport? look out for things to pick up in about a week when i get some hawaii pictures up here.
