tuesday, december 13th my parents and i drove up to lancaster, pa to see a christmas presentation at the lancaster train station. my dad works for amtrak as a station superintendent (or something like that) and he knows a woman who works there who goes above and beyond the call of duty to decorate the station for the holidays. it was about an hour drive from our house up into amish country, and along the way we passed the amusement park i remember going to as a kid, dutch wonderland.

they sung christmas carols, and even had a harp player. what was cool was that it took place at like 6:00p on a tuesday, so while it was going on commuters were passing through. made for a nice festive interruption to the regular hustle and bustle. i did, hoever, notice that i was one of the very few people watching between the ages of ten and forty.
afterwards, my parents and i went to a nice restaurant that had at one time been owned by the family of the 15th president, james buchanan. i had shrimp stuffed with crab cakes, which was really, really good. unfortunately the place felt a bit too classy for me to get out the camera and snap a pic of it.
