i've been spending most of my days just relaxing around my parents house, and it gave me some time to go through some old stuff from when i was a kid.
my grandmother on my mom's side made this for me in a ceramics class she was taking. when i was a kid it had a red light in it and as i went to sleep his eyes would be lit up red. you would think that would have been scary, and i guess it was a little bit but i remember i loved it.
i went to take a nap on the couch while adjusting to the time change and when i went into the closet for a blanket i found my favorite afghan from when i was younger.
it's admittedly the ugliest thing you've ever seen, but at the same time it's the warmest and most comfortable thing ever.
my mom mentioned perhaps repairing the hole, but i was totally against it. it's part of its history and should be preserved in my opinion. i love this blanket so much in the past my sister and i have jokingly fought over who will inherit it. i told her she can have everything, all i want is the afghan, but she's not going for it.
wandering around my parents' house, it's also apparent that my dad has been a lifelong philadelphia eagles fan. the first thing i noticed was on a table in the living room you see when first entering the house.
i was surprised to see this poster still hanging after owens criticized the eagles organization so much he was basically cut from the team this season.
the eagles last won a championship when he was ten years old, and my poor father has been waiting the since then for them to bring home another title. last year they were close, but lost in the super bowl, and this year they had a lot of injuries and other turmoil and won't be in the postseason.
