around 11:00p on the night before i was leaving, i grabbed a taxi ride over to visit hyejin in her neighborhood. she had something she wanted to give to me, and i wanted to thank her for everything she'd done for me over the past year. she really tried her best to make me feel welcome in korea, and always helped me out whenever i needed it, which was a bit often as i tried to navigate in a foreign country. she also introduced me to all her friends and was just an all-around good friend.

what she wanted to give me was a really excellent and thoughtful going away present, this very nice scarf.

she was thoughtful enough to give me something useful but also not too big that it would be hard to carry back to the states. i'll definitely be getting a lot of good use out of it while i'm here on the chilly east coast. thanks for everything, hyejin!
